Yixi, Nick, Chris, and Nick received 1st Place for Outstanding Student Paper at ASEE - Yixi Chen, Nick Rice, Nick Smith, and Chris Xia presented a poster at the Northeastern Section conference of the American Society for Engineering Education held in Boston April 30-May 2. Their paper was awarded 1st place for the “Outstanding Undergraduate Student Paper Award.” Congratulations!
MS Student Claire Salvi Present Thesis Research - Claire Salvi presented her MS thesis research on May 14th. Her research focused on the effect of pH on polyelectrolyte multilayer formation and growth factor release. Congratulations, Claire!
Peterson and Timko Lab MQP Student Presents Research on Biofuel Fouling of Polymers - Alex Haring, an MQP student co-advised by Professors Peterson and Timko, presented his work at Project Presentation Day on April 23. Alex developed protocols for studying fouling of polymer surfaces in biofuel streams using quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring (QCM-D). He also performed surface characterization of model membrane surfaces.
Peterson and Sakulich Lab MQP Team Awarded Honorable Mention at National Sustainable Design Expo - Yixi Chen, Nick Rice, Nick Smith, and Chris Xia presented their MQP research on self-healing coatings for steel-reinforced concrete at the EPA’s National Sustainable Design Expo April 11-12 in Alexandria, VA.
